( Jared had called Jensen then, more out of desperation than anything else, and wow, that was a weird thing to think, but there it was and what else was he to do. He couldn’t help the weird curling he had felt in his stomach then, like sinking and knotting at the same time, and boy, did he not want to think about what that could mean. Jensen promised to be right over, maybe twenty minutes, the most. Jared hung up and looked at Steve again. Who looked miserable and ready to fall over. )
